Rabbits provide meat, are easy to breed, and demonstrate social capital. I have 5 rabbits now, and have had as many as 15. I have never bought a single rabbit. Even the hutch was gifted to me. One word Social Capital!

I have often thought of having my own rabbits to breed. We have beagles and hunt rabbits.
I would recommend two animals for starter livestock rabbits and chickens. Rabbits also produce great fertilizer.
I have chickens already. Good idea though to start with two rabbits. And I didn’t know that about rabbits and fertilizer. Thanks for that tip
Unlike chicken, rabbit manure isn’t “hot”, and can be added straight to the garden. Chicken’s needs to be composted, or it may burn plants.
