A little update on my compost pile. The pile consist of grass clipping, leaves and shredded cardboard. It’s design allows for easy turning, and wetting it down. Also the presence of earth worms and pill bug let’s me know that its working.

I use my new lawn mower that has a bagger. I love the mower with the bagger because how easy it is to collect the grass clippings. Grass clippings are great for rabbit and goat food. Chickens also will eat the grass clippings. You can also spread out the clippings to save them for hay to store for winter. AND the clippings that don’t go to feed make great compost.
My girls and I put the finishing touches on the last of the square foot garden bed. Three steps to make a square foot garden. 1 Build frame 2 Fill it with Mel’s Mix ( 1/3 pet moss 1/3 perlite 1/3 compost). 3. Apply a grid. Finish. I have everything already finish except for the grid. Katie, Becca, and I put the grid on. It’s much easier with some help.

Today I plant my Spring garden. I planted it on the square foot gardening style. I placed 16 radishes per square foot. Four lettuce per square. Two kale per square. I also added some compost to last years Mel’s mix of peat moss, compost, and perlite. Enjoy and subscribe.

Spring is about here in GA. I made a new drought resistant garden beds today. I will be planting them with lettuces, spinach, kale this weekend.

Winter storm that was to dump snow on us in GA never materialized. Instead we had sleet and freezing rain. It was very cold afterwards, and unfortunately many of my animals did not make. Making me pretty bummed about it. Move we all must move on. Pick up the pieces. .

I rehad an old Hugel bed where the wood had decompose. I use the lasagne method. Layer of cardboard. Layer of rabbit manure. Layer of leaves, and finally layer of wood chips.

This really a test vlog with my new early Christmas present. I love my family even more for getting me a GoPro. A quick post about my future garden beds. Of course it’s going to be a poly-culture with a few apple trees.
