Do the Work.
The election is over, and if your person won or not. In the broad scheme of things it don’t matter much. The work is never done. Trees must be planted. Animals must be feed. Silkies are my new favorite chicken breeds. They are too cute and even though small they are egg machines.
Corn Sprouts Day Three.
Corn is sprouting, but not as good as I would like. My idea was sprouting corn because I have grown it many times before. Black oil sunflower did much better, and I have grown sunflowers many time before also. Also there is no “GMO” with sunflower.

Corn Sprouts Experiment Day 2
Katie, Becca, and I continue the corn sprouting experiment. We drain, and rinse the soaked corn. Hopefully it will sprout in a few days. Afterwards we’ll feed it to the animals.
Rabbits and Social Capital.
Rabbits provide meat, are easy to breed, and demonstrate social capital. I have 5 rabbits now, and have had as many as 15. I have never bought a single rabbit. Even the hutch was gifted to me. One word Social Capital!
A Walk About.
The family and I take a look at the back part of my property. I tell them stories of my families land. The same land that I roamed when I was their age.

Principles value the edge and build system that mimic nature are on display. If you ever feel stuck in your design just have a look at nature. Nature shows us how edges work, and how the plants are stacked onto each other.
Honey Locust.
I wanted to add nitrogen fixers to each block food forest. I was gearing up to find suppliers. Following the use what you got, I found honey locust tree on my property. I collected and stored seed pods to start seeds in the spring. Also my father in law bush hogged down some black locust that are coming back. Ii plan to transplant them here.
A Trip to a Local Orchard.
